The Link Page Report Card

by bigcarlito Sunday, July 06, 2008

Ever wondered how much a link is worth? The Link Page Report Card is designed to quickly provide much of the data necessary to judge the quality of a potential link. You should also consider relevancy of the page to your site as well as actual page traffic data if available.

DISCLAIMER: You should NEVER purchase links with the intention of improving your search rankings... ;-)

SUBJECT SCORE GRADE
Page Rank (PR) - A score from 0 to 10, assigned by Google, indicating the strength and quantity of links pointing to your website. N/A
Fake PR Check - It's possible to fool the toolbar into showing a high page rank for a low PR site. This check validates that the page rank returned is legitimate. -
Domain Age - Length of time the domain has been registered. If the domain was recently dropped and registered by someone else, Google may reset the page rank and consider it a brand new website. N/A
Domain Links - Number of links from other websites to any page on the link page's domain. This gives an indication of the authority of the domain that the link page is on. -
Page Links - Number of links from other websites to the link page. This gives an indication of the authority of the link page itself. Ideally you will want a link from a page with a lot of links to it. -
Page Link Domain Count - The number of unique websites in the first 100 inbound links to the page. A low percentage might indicate that most of the links are from just a few sites. Try to get links from pages that have links from many different websites. -
Total Outbound Links - The number of links already on the linking page. Ideally the linking page will not have a lot of outgoing links. A link on a page with many other links is not as beneficial as a link from a similar page with just a few links. -
External Outbound Links - The number of links on the linking page that are going to other (external) websites. -
Server Location - The physical location of the server that is hosting the page. Try to get links from sites on servers that are geographically located in the region you are trying to rank. For example, to rank better on Google India, it helps to get links from servers located in India. - -
